Crom castle 🍀 30kms 🚴‍♀️

This morning for brekky I tried Irish "Farl bread" which is a delicious potato bread which can be toasted, friend or cooked in the oven 😊 and served with lashings of butter.

I had the morning off and Natalie (one of the leaders) took me for a bike ride to the local castle - Crom castle .

Lord Erne (castle is situated on Lough Erne) lives in the castle and land has been sold off and a number of houses have been built along the shoreline.  2000 acres has been donated to the National Trust and there are cycle/pedestrian paths that go through and around the property, a jetty for moorings, info centre and cafe as well as cottages and a campground.  A little piece of paradise.

We rode back through the undulating farmland to the recreation centre in time for lunch.

This afternoon's activity was a canoe rally with the kids in groups and they had to paddle to various checkpoints and answer a quiz or question and then move on to the next until they had finished the course.  I was out on the lake in a canoe near a buoy as one of the checkpoints.  Lots of laughter 😊

Tonight after a dinner of fish, chips and beans

and some free time, the teens enjoyed watching a compilation video that the leaders have been putting together of their time at camp.  Some will go home tomorrow and the rest on Sunday.  It's been lovely to watch them make cross cultural friends 😊
