A stunning day in the Argyle & Bute Scottish countryside.
The drive from our campground through the mountains and lochs was incredible.
First stop was the King's house hotel, Glencoe with views to the Glencoe ski lifts.
Many hikers dotted on the mountains with backpacks walking the 95 mile West Highland Way.
I asked to be dropped at the base of the Devil's Staircase while the others headed to the next town.
The hike to the top was through rough stone steps, a running creek, thick sphagnum moss, views for miles over the mountains.
At the very top of some of the mountains there was some snow. I loved talking with other hikers of all different nationalities, all commenting not only on the view but also the warm (18-20 degrees), clear day.
Then Marion kindly collected me and we drove the route along the loch to Fort William, perfectly timed to see the steam train - the Jacobite Express pass by.
We then drove the route to the fishing and ferry town of Oban along the stunning loch, with a castle on an island and marinas 😊. Then up the hill to McCaig's Tower/folly which is a huge structure similar to the Colosseum in appearance.
We stayed there for about an hour watching the view and then headed down to the shoreline for Rick Stein's (international chef) recommended fish and chip shop for the meal of the day - haddock, chips, bread and a cup of tea.
Sunset beside the dock before heading back to the mobile home.
Fabulous day in nature!
