Shepton Mallet 🇬🇧. 25km 🚴‍♀️

I cycled to visit the town of Shepton Mallet in the Somerset region.

It houses the oldest jail in England, built in the 1600’s and only closed 10yrs ago. It now has an ‘immersive’ experience including dress ups and court hearings etc. The building of the jail also held the Magna Carta and the Doomsday book for a period of time.

The town was located on an important trade route and has an old Market Hall and a covered area to tie up horses. The 12th century church of St Peter & St Paul's has a wooden ceiling and interesting fresco.

I cycled around Collett park with beautiful cherry blossoms and green grass. The gardener was stopped with his mower waiting till a mother duck and her 14 ducklings had passed by safely. Then a cute robin landed on my bike to say hi 😊

Today was a crazy mixed up weather day - It was overcast, sunny, rainy, 3 hail storms (cycled in 2 of then), breezy, cold and hot.. all in one day! 😂😂 and they say Melbourne has bad weather 😂

Super loving doggies snuggling on the lounge at night ❤️ and I've lit a fire. Daylight till 8pm but dropping down to 3 degrees. Love sitting in front of a fire
