Beer - Branscombe 🇬🇧

A stunning weather day! 🎉🎉

This morning I went with Scott to walk Maggie in the park.

Then we went out to watch their grandaughter at Pony club and had soup for lunch.

This afternoon Suzy drove us to the cutest Devon village called ‘Beer’. We then walked the Coastal Path hiking route along the cliffs to the next village of Branscombe. A very undulating path with ocean views, gorse bushes in flower, birds twittering and lots of hikers out enjoying the long awaited sunshine after a week or so of storms.

At the next village we went to the Sea Shanty beach cafe for a Devonshire tea (in Devon!!) with beach views. The serving size was great and it was good to pick up my scone research again (😂) and these did rate quite highly. The view from the picnic tables looked out to sea one way and then to the people climbing back up the hill the other. We took the alternate route on the way back to give us some great views up to the chalk cliffs, famous for fossils.

We wandered down to the beach at Beer which is a fishing port and so lots of boats and crab pots etc.

Finished tonight with a fish and chip dinner with Suzy and Scott. It's been great to reconnect with them again after 20+ years 😊

The Devonshire area is stunning with green fields, narrow lanes, quaint villages and a rugged coastline.
