We have arrived into Spain! After a quick trip to the supermarket to get some lunch items, this morning saw us catch 3 trains to the airport, a flight and then 3 trains to central Madrid.
Always that bit more challenging navigating public transport in another language, but rewarding when you succeed π
We emerged from the underground into a bustling square with grand historic stylish buildings.
A short walk to our hostel to drop off backpacks and then out to explore in the balmy late afternoon 24 degree air. I am back in my hiking sandals and a TShirt after months in winter gear π
We wandered along absorbing the atmosphere and found a very cute traditional restaurant, got the last table for alfresco dining and selected a range of tapas and a glass of sangria. We chatted and watched the world go by and slowly ate our delicious food.
Back to our hostel and Kim was ready for an earlier night and I went to the common room for free sangria and travel chats with other guests for an hour or so.
Looking forward to exploring Madrid tomorrow in the warmth π
