Corfu πŸ‡¬πŸ‡· Day 4

A Perfect last day in paradise.  So thankful that today was the day to take my boat cruise.  The water was calm and the sky blue 😊

The bus dropped us at the harbour and we boarded the boat and an hour later at our first stop, the island of Paxos.

We had 1.5hrs and so I followed the signs up a winding road to the lighthouse.  Well, the gates were locked and thick scrub all over the top of the hill and so no views from the top either πŸ˜‚.

Was an interesting walk but I wanted a swim and so found some sneaky paths and steps between houses and ended up down at a beautiful rocky beach with just one other couple.  The water was crystal clear and I enjoyed my swim.

I found my way back and had just enough time to go to the bakery for a spinach and feta pastry and my first baklava.

Back on the boat and we cruised to some caves and the water was so clear and greeny coloured.
Next stop was Blue Lagoon - a stunning cove with the most gorgeous water.  Most of us jumped in for an hour long swim.

A girl had her phone in a plastic pouch and so I took some.ohotos for her.  Turns out she is a social media person for a range of companies in Scotland on her first solo holiday at 25yrs.  She had all the poses happening.  She then got me to replicate, had so much fun and laughter.
Our final stop of the day was the beautiful seaside town of Sivota.  More swimming for me at the rocky beach.

A wonderful day out in a stunning location.
Sunset gyros for dinner and I saw the full moon rising as I walked back to my apartment.

Such a perfect way to finish my Greek mini break ❤️

Corfu πŸ‡¬πŸ‡· Day 3

A very relaxing day.  The weather has turned and the sun came out today πŸŽ‰. Lots of time at the beach swimming, reading and people watching.

Attempting to even out my sandal tan

In the water the fish nibble at your feet and it's a bit like the experience you can pay for at some shopping centres.  The water is clear and quite salty.

I dialled in to a zoom Board meeting for Eagles Wings charity.

I walked past olive groves to locate the bus stop to the airport which I'll need on Friday.  2.5km walk.

The lady who gave me directions said to just hitch hike a ride as there's only one road in to the beach I'm staying and everyone will need to go past the bus stop at the junction of the main road πŸ˜‚

Tonight the sunset view from my restaurant was beautiful.  So lovely to watch the sun go down with the water lapping below and happy relaxed people at the tables nearby 😊

Corfu πŸ‡¬πŸ‡· day 2

Wonderful to wake up in Corfu for my birthday.  Lots of lovely messages and a few phone calls too.  Thankyou, they have made my day 😊

Today was forecast to have thunderstorms and it delivered.  Rolling storms all day with constant lightning.  As a result all boat tours , aqua craft such as SUP and jetski not able to be hired out and even a lifeguard not letting people in the water.

After trying to wait out the storms, I decided to put on a raincoat and go for a walk.

I walked the length of the horseshoe bay and then up into the sand dunes with a view to crossing down the other side to the lake.  The scrub in the dunes was thick and lots of little paths where others had tried to find their way too.  After a while I realised I should have dropped some breadcrumbs as all the bushes look the same!

An adventure I got, but managed to find my way back to the sandy cliff edges.  The sun came out briefly and let me see how beautiful the water colours will be on a sunny day.

I wandered back to a Taverna for a chicken gyros for lunch with beach and lightning views.

Then some further wanderings along the waters edge in the other direction which has coral and rock instead of sand. So pretty, but couldn't see any fish.

Back to my room for a rest and to read a magazine.

For dinner tonight I decided to go back to the same Taverna as last night as the staff were friendly and food lovely.  They welcomed me back which was lovely as the only solo in a room filled with couples.  Yummy dips and grilled seafood tonight 😊

I reflected on my 55yrs and am thankful for many things, that I have been fortunate to have three sons whom I adore, that I still have my parents and they are well, to have loved and been loved, to have wonderful friends, including many long term ones, to have been able to travel extensively, to have a healthy body that allows me to go on adventures.  I am truly blessed ❤️
