Well, that was a biggie. A big festival at the in-between main town of Strubing meant all accommodation and campgrounds booked out.

Highlights:
First 50 kms spent cycling with a dad and his chatty 13yr old son who wanted to practice his English and a real history buff. So enjoyable and made the time fly.
Built by Ludwig 1st who loved Greek architecture |
Having a wander around the Strubing festival - like a mix of the EKKA, homeshow and Octoberfest 🤣. Most wearing national dress (that they didn't buy on eBay!) - had thought I would have lunch in one of the beer tents but stepped inside and about 40 degrees and I would not have been able to ride afterwards as I was already so hot!
Tasted this green cheese - beautiful curry flavour |
Having a picnic instead in the shade and chatting with 4 just graduated students
Meeting some Swiss ladies who had been cheering on the Matilda's from afar.
Camping at a canoe club with the same 4 students!
Lots of roadwork and about 15kms of diversions as they are building a new bridge |
Big swim in the fast flowing Danube
Students insisting I share their excess pizza and join them for dinner❤️
Watching the sun set over the water.
Great day!
