Bergamo day 5 🇮🇹

Shelter from the weather rest day

Today we had a lie in as thunderstorms and rain predicted.  Wendy Presneill and I donned our raincoats, found the train station, caught the train, a bus and funicular to the top of the walled old town to see the view and visit the castle.  As we got out of the funicular, the storm kicked up a notch and the wind and rain came down.

We walked about 100m on the slippery cobbles, took a couple of photos and decided it was better to catch the funicular back down again, rather than walk the steep slippery streets.

The weather was a little better down further and we wandered the streets, browsed the markets and looked at a few incredibly ornate churches.

Beautiful pizza style topped focaccia breads for lunch 😊

Public transport home again and a relaxing couple of hours before making dinner.

Storms predicted again for tomorrow so may need to implement plan B again.

A chilled day in a lovely town.
