Bergamo 🇮🇹 Day 4 - 100km cycle.

My lovely friends are organising everything this week in Italy and so I am having a break from logistics.  I am therefore at the mercy of these super fit friends and the cycling plans they devise 🤣

Today we cycled back up the switchbacks to Selvino as that then gave us the opportunity to cycle down the most beautiful sweeping long 10km descent to a Cycle trail we had read about.

The repurposed old railway line has been made into a cycle and pedestrian path through to the village of Brembana.

The cycle up the valley follows a river with sheer limestone cliffs and little villages.

We passed through a number of tunnels and over a few cycle bridges.

The route passes the town of San Pellegrino.

Being a weekend the route was busy with cyclists and hikers.

We had lunch at the top in a village cafe and then enjoyed the 15km gradual descent back to the main road and then back to Bergamo.

We were keeping an eye on the clock as large storms forecast.  We made it home in time and opted to eat our leftovers and watch a movie and avoid the cyclonic weather outside.

Such a varied day of riding, scenery and all with fabulous company.
