Windsor 🇬🇧

A wonderfully British day provided by Jan and Dave 😊

Jan drove me to Windsor via the site of the signing of the Magna Carta, and then first stop was Windsor castle.  Not open for visitors today and two heavily armed guards at the entrance.  I decided to push the envelope a bit and walked right up to the entrance to peek in but was asked to move back 😳. After a quick photo by Jan, we walked as far as we could around the perimeter and the flag was flying indicating the King was in residence.

We then walked down church Lane opposite the castle and saw the plaque on the wall indicating the Warrant for the execution of King Charles I,

visited the Guildhall where Charles and Camilla were married

, the shortest street in the UK next to a very crooked house!  The Windsor Royal train station (now repurposed into a shopping and restaurant precinct) and the royal train, decommissioned in 1912.

We had launch at the Marks and Spencers cafe - Turkey pot pie soup -

perfect for a bleak 7 degree day 😊. And a wander through the shops along the mall.  Loved the Royal themed Christmas lights too.

I've had a right Royal day out 😊
