A day spent being a tourist.
I walked the length and breadth of Stratford including visiting William Shakespeare's birthplace and childhood home (1500's),
Ann Hathaway's (Williams wife) gorgeous thatched cottage that she grew up in.
The site of their marital home which was demolished in the 1600's but an informative museum next door and beautiful gardens and sculptures on the site of their former home,
William's school
and the Royal Shakespeare Theatre company and viewing tower.
I wandered the streets with many Tudor style homes and then along the river Avon with luxury homes backing down to the river.
The day started rainy but the sun came out in the afternoon.
A fun and informative day courtesy of the knowledgeable National Trust volunteers who made the buildings come alive.
