A fabulous day. The students are starting to relax more, the volunteer English teachers too,! Walked 13kms today.
I absolutely love having one on one time with these interesting people.. so incredibly diverse. An Emergency disaster specialist Doctor who is now retired and a volunteer with Red Cross. His stories are fascinating. CFOs of major companies, a fun woman who is trying to know more English than her teenage son.
Today I ran a conference call simulation for some nervous participants and they handled it well.
This afternoon I did a presentation and I chose the subject of Bicycle Touring. The group were interested and asked lots of questions. I chose to wear my cycle clothes, Aussie jersey and helmet ๐
A group did a funny skit, which meant they had to learn lines in English.
Tonight each nation represented had to sing a song that signified their country (Shannon Noll for Australia) and then a confession as to what part of the English language we find hard, followed by a Hazelnut schnapps, or two.
Such a lovely group, great location, excellent food and it feels like an absolute privilege to be a part of it. ๐
