30/06/2023. Llandudno, Wales

Caught the train to Llandudno, Wales for a long weekend by the sea.  The train left the hustle and bustle of Manchester, through to Chester on the border and entered Wales travelling along the seaside through static home villages and rugged coastline.

We were met at the train by Emma, friends of the Murphy family and taken to her gorgeous old stone cottage a block back from the ocean.  Beautifully renovated and tranquil.

Went for a wander along the large promenade past the expanse of pastel coloured hotels built in the 1870's.  We walked out to the end of the jetty past the fish and chip and ice cream shops, colourful seaside supplies shops,  ferris wheel and arcades out to the end with views to The Great Orme - the large rocky outcrop at the end of town.

Had to buy some Scampi and chips from a historic shop with a slide to deliver the hot food!  Crunchy golden goodness that makes you a target for the oversized, hungry, aggressive seagulls.  I got dive bombed and lost a few chips and ended up with bird poo in the hair 🙄

Sat by the sea with views to the large wind farm in the ocean..

Had a beautiful Cornish ice cream, but that also makes for seagull attention.  We had to shelter under a low tree!  Creamiest ice cream.

The storms rolled in and so we sheltered in an 1870's pub in the warmth 😊

Relaxing beautiful town.  Can't wait to explore tomorrow.
